ECE NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

This orientation is recommended. The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department hosts a new student orientation in the fall semesters only. This session provides an overview of degree requirements and department policies. All new students planning to enroll at UIC are encouraged to attend (students admitted in spring semesters can attend the orientation in the fall). To register, click here.

GRADUATE COLLEGE NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

This orientation is recommended. The Graduate College hosts a campus-wide orientation for new graduate students in the fall semesters. This session provides information on various general topics including: UIC history, CampusCare/Health Insurance, Student Accounts, Graduate Funding, Graduate Student Council and Graduate Employees Organization. NEW INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION

This orientation is mandatory for all International students.

The Office of International Services hosts an orientation for International students. This session provides an overview of university and community services. To register, click here. Note: OIS has scheduled various activities in addition to the mandatory orientation. Please see link provided for more details.

 

TA ORIENTATIONS

The TA orientations are mandatory. Students who have accepted an offer of a teaching assistantship in the electrical and computer engineering department are required to attend.

ECE TA Orientation:

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department hosts a TA orientation in the fall and spring semesters. This session provides information on ECE TA requirements and policies. All new students appointed as a Teaching Assistant in the department are required to attend. Students are automatically registered for this session.

Campus-Wide TA Orientations:

Sessions provide TAs with information on communication, tips, support services and workshops. All new TAs (Domestic & International students) must attend the campus-wide orientation. To read additional information, click here.
