Dr. Chen has served as associate editor for IEEE Sensors Journal, IEEE Journal of Electromagnetics, RF and Microwaves in Medicine and Biology (IEEE-JERM), IEEE Journal of Radio Frequency and Identification (IEEE-JRFID), and guest editor for several international journals.

Dr. Chen’s group conducts multidisciplinary research dedicated to applied electromagnetics, wireless microsensors and integrated systems, wireless technologies for RFID, IoT and human-machine interaction applications, as well as electromagnetism at the nanoscale, including plasmonics, meta-materials/surfaces, and nanophotonics.
