How to find related work

In general, the best way to find related work is to look at the references of related work you know of. However, that's usually not enough, as these links only point backward in time. Other handy tools to use include:

• Google Scholar
• CiteSeer
• Computer Science Bibliography Collection
• IEEE Xplore
• ACM Digital Library

Some of these tools also list papers that reference a given paper. Very handy.
