Distinguished Professors Mike Stroscio and Mitra Dutta, and Professor Lucy Shi have received a new $100,598 AFOSR grant for a project entitled “Quantum Engineering of States in Heterostructure-Based Detectors for Enhanced Performance.”

ABSTRACT: A novel multiple quantum well heterostructure will be modeled, designed, and tested as a new type of photodetector design. This device has a greatly enhanced signal-to-noise ratio due to the use of interface-phonon assisted transitions.
