Tau Beta Pi has several meetings throughout the semester to plan everything it does and keep members informed of current news. All scheduled meetings will be posted here.

First General Meeting

On Monday, September 21, 2009, in 1047 ERF at 5:00 P.M. Tau Beta Pi had its first general meeting in 1047 ERF at 5:00 PM. Members got a service hour for attending. Below are the minutes from the first meeting:

Introduction of Officers
- President-Stefanie Broviak - sbroviak1342@gmail.com
- Vice President-Muniba Anwar.
  - Initiation Ceremony will be in October
- Secretary-Laura Zitella
- Treasurer-Babak Behseta
- Cataloger-Archit Joshipura
  - Member with the most service hours will be awarded a $25 gift card.

- Fundraising Chair-Meghan Grebic
  - Bake sales - will be coming up soon!
  - Wendy's Fundraiser.
- Engineering Futures-Basmah Choudhary
  - Public speaking seminar and Engineering futures seminar (3 service hours will be given) - will be between 10/19 - 11/23
- Blood Drive Coordinator-Joseph Hughes
  - 2 service hours will be given to those who donate blood, 1 hour to those who have someone donate in their name.
- Webmaster-Sanket Patel
  - Website has updates on events, announcements, service hours records, minutes from meetings.

- Initiates from last year pick up pins and certificates.
New Business:
- Opportunities for Service hours:
  - Tutoring will begin, you receive service hours for this. If you are interested in tutoring, email Stefanie at sbroviak1342@gmail.com One service hour will be given for volunteering, and additional hours will be given for actually tutoring. PHYS and MATH tutors are especially needed!
  - New service project- polishing the bent and refurbishing the bottom
    - Looking for someone who can sand it
- Social outing- possible Gangsters tour of Chicago for FREE.
  - Will receive service hours for attending
- Conference:
  - Stefanie will be attending Tau Beta Pi convention October 15-17, 2009.

Second General Meeting

On Monday, October 19, 2009 in 1047 ERF at 6:00 PM. Everyone who came will receive a service hour.

Buddy interviews for initiates
- If you would like to be a memeber buddy for an initiate, email Muniba by THIS Friday. One service hour will be given per interview
Initiation Ceremony
- Monday 11/23 in 1047 ERF from 5:30-9:00 P.M.
- Banquet will follow at Giordano's on Halsted
- If you would like to attend the banquet or volunteer at initiation, please email Muniba before November 15th
Reminder that each member must complete 6 service hours per semester to be considered active member
Fundraising
- Bake sales:10/26 and 11/25 from 8:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. in SCE link
- Wendy's Fundraiser:TBA
Seminars
- Engineering Futures:TBA
- Public Speaking seminar with Chris Kuypers: 11/3 at 5:00 P.M. in LCD4. Two service hours will be given for attending
- Stress relief seminar: 10/21 at 5:00 P.M. in SEO 1000. One service hour will be given for attending.
Blood Drive
- 11/3 from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. in Illinois Room. You will receive two service hours for donating, and one if someone donates in your name.
Website
- Newly updated with information, including service hours for each member.
Old Business
- Pins and Certificates for last years initiates can still be picked up
- TBP national convention was October 15-17
New Business
- TBP sweatshirts/tshirts are being considered to be ordered
- Tutoring
  - Physics, Math tutors needed; will receive service hours

  - 11/3 from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
  - Will receive 3 service hours
- Outstanding faculty in Engineering Award
  - You can nominate your favorite engineering professor by 11/6. Visit our website to complete the application online. One service will be given per nomination
- TBP Stoles and cords for graduation can be purchased for $35
- If active members, TBP can be listed on transcript of graduating seniors so let Stefanie know if you are graduating this semester.

Third General Meeting

On Monday, November 16,2009 in 1047 ERF at 5:00 PM. One service hour will be given to all who attend.

Updates
Initiation Ceremony

  - Volunteers needed, will receive 1 service hour
- Banquet Dinner will follow for free
  - Will receive one service hour
Reminder to check website for completed hours
- 6 hours are required per semester to be considered an active member

- Bake sale on Wednesday November 25th from 8:30 to 1:00 P.M.
  - 1 service hour for each hour volunteered
  - upto 2 service hours earned for baked goods to sell
