Tau Beta Pi sets up a diverse set of events for its members, ranging from social outings to bake sales and seminars. All scheduled events will be posted here.
- Metropolitan Water Reclamation Plant Tour
- Engineering Council will be sponsoring a plant tour of the metropolitan water reclamation plant of the greater Chicago area on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009. This plant is one of the largest of its kind in the US so it should be a very interesting event. The tour is open to all engineering majors, and space is limited so if you are interested in attending, please contact uicengcouncil@gmail.com for more information. Transportation would be provided for this event. - Stress Relief Seminar
- Engineering Council is sponsoring a stress relief seminar which will be held on Wednesday Oct 21 at 5 p.m. in 100 SEO. This event is open to all engineering majors, and you will receive ONE service hour for attending. It should be about an hour long, and will have some great advice on how to reduce stress.
- Tau Beta Pi Blood Drive
- We will be having our blood drive on Tuesday, November 3rd. It will be held in Illinois room in SCE from 9 am to 3 pm. For those of you who do not know where the Illinois room is, it is the big room located by the top of the escalators outside the inner circle. This is a great opportuity because not only can you help out those who are in need of transfusions, but you can also get TWO service hours for donating blood yourself, and one hour if you are able to get someone to donate in your name.
- Public Speaking Seminar
- Tau Beta Pi will be having its Public speaking seminar on Tuesday, November 3rd. The location will be decided later and it will be at 5:00 PM.
Initiate Informational Meeting
This is a meeting where prospective initiates will learn more about Tau Beta Pi and how to be initiated. All officers are strongly suggested to attend. The meeting is on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 5:00 PM in 1047 ERF.

Initiation Ceremony
This is the ceremony where new initiates become full members of Tau Beta Pi. This ceremony is mandatory in order to be initiated and formal attire is required. The ceremony includes dinner at a fine restaurant and is on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 5:00 PM in 1043/1047 ERF.
