Nrin Vakl's florid personality was a breath of fresh air for Rogue Squadron, which consisted of mainly battle-hardened and moody warriors. A Quarren native of Mon Calamari, Nrin joined Rogue Squadron after its reformation some time after the Battle at Bakura. Nrin was very adaptable to new ships and extreme situations, to that end he was commonly chosen to fly Reconnaissance X-Wings on missions that required a lot of scouting. After the loss of Ibitsam, a Mon Calamari who shared a unique relationship with Nrin, at the Battle of Ciutric, Nrin Vakl left Rogue Squadron to perform a long term scouting career for the New Republic. At some point after the demise of Imperial Grand Admiral Thrawn, Nrin rejoined the Rogues in their attempt to defeat a clone of Ysanne Isard as detailed in the novel "Isard's Revenge".
A somewhat simple figure to make, thanks mostly to the casts of the head and hands of a vintage Squidhead done by FFURG's very own Doug. I used the body from a Wedge Antilles from the Rebel Pilots Cinema scene and lopped off the head and hands. I glue the hand casts onto the arms and repainted them black to match flight gloves. I then painted the head cast a dark tan, with red eyes and glued it on to the neck of the figure. Unfortunately he lost any head articulation but this could not be helped. However, this figure is quickly becoming one of my favorites, it just looks so cool, thanx Doug for the help!
