Lieutenant Page is the commanding officer of an elite group of
Republic commandos. Page's unit is called in to infiltrate areas of
Imperial resistance, where other Rep units would be useless. Page's
commandos are first introduce in a novel in Michael Stackpole's X-Wing series
where they assist Rogue Squadron, though they are first mentioned in numerous RPG books.
Later on his career in the novel Isard's Revenge, Page was promoted to
the rank of Captain and given command of the group Katarn's Commandos, where is
his squad once more gave ground support to Rogue Squadron. Alongside of Page, is an intelligence droids of my own design,
called an MPAT-i3, which stands for Multi-Purpose, All-Terrain Intelligence Model, Version 3. This droid could perhaps have been
used by Page's unit to access enemy communications or other
such things.
To make the lieutenant, I took the body of a Rebel Fleet Solider (whose
head I used to make Capt. Antilles) and the head of GI Joe figure Falcon.
I painted the shirt dull white, but over the blue of the original paint
detail, the shirt comes out looking like a pale blue, which in the end
worked ok in my eyes. I painted the hands black to simulate the use of
gloves, though in reality to hide the fact that the skin tone of the body
doesn't match the skin tone of the head I used. I then painted the beret
on the head black, and added a little red blotch to signify a unit
emblem. Finally, I cut the back of a standard Han blaster off, and glued
it to the holster on the right leg to simulate he had a full gun at his
side. Add his lieutenant rank insignia to the right side of the vest he
wears, and the heavy assault rifle that came with Ponda Baba, and Lt. Page is complete.
To make the MPAT-i3, I took an old robot with treads from the 80's GI Joe
line. I painted it black and silver, added antenna from my childhood
legos, and made its head out of legos which I feel came out real well.
