Wes Janson in Civilian Gear

My Custom                                                     Inspiration from Rogue Handbook

After the Battle of Endor, Rogue Squadron was assigned many tasks by the fledgling Rebel Alliance/New Republic. Many times the Rogues had to go beyond their duty of flying their X-Wing Fighters and perform ground operations. As a skilled soldier, Wes Janson, with his muscular build and hand to hand combat skills, is the "tough" of Rogue Squadron. And when on ground operations, Wes can be seen leading portions of the squad into battle. Wes proved has proved his worth on many occasions including helping Kapp Dendo's Assault Group in sabotaging Imperial facilities on Brentaal during the events chronicled in "In The Empire's Service."

Wes Janson is the first in a series of Rogue Squadron members in civilian gear I plan to make inspired by Dark Horse's Rogue Squadron Handbook. To make my Wes in the image of the picture you see above, I started off with a head cast of Janson made by David Diaz (again many thanks David!) and painted it to the correct skin tone/hair color. For the body I used the torso and arms of a Rebel Fleet Trooper and painted the shirt they represent a dark tan, the exposed skin was painted the same flesh tone as the head. I also used the RFT vest and painted it a military brown. I chose the RFT body because it has very wide shoulders which is what Janson has. For legs I used those from the Endor Han figure, painting the holster black as well as black lines along the sides of the legs for pippins (sp?). After putting all the painted pieces together, I added a spare blaster from Weequay to finish Janson off. I think the figure came out well, its short (just like a pilot should be) and stocky with the added shoulder width that Wes has. More Rogue pilots in Civilian Gear are yet to come...
