After defecting off the Imperial vessel Rand Ecliptic with Biggs Darklighter and Tycho Celchu, Derek Klivian of Ralltiir, better known to his friends as Hobbie quickly joined the Rebellion. Though not at the Battle of Yavin, Hobbie was added as a member of Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles elite pilot group, Rogue Squadron just prior to the Battle of Hoth. Hobbie served with distinction at Hoth and with his efforts at Endor and Bakura was promoted from Flight Officer to Lieutenant. After the truce at Bakura, Rogue Squadron was reformed with Hobbie serving as a Flight Leader alongside his good buddy Lt. Wes Janson. After the Battle at Ciutric, the squadron was disbanded placing Hobbie along with Janson in training a new generation of Rebel pilots. After the threat of Ysanne Isard was ended by a new Rogue Squadron at Thyferra, Hobbie returned to Rogue Squadron as 2nd in command while Wedge Antilles formed his new Wraith Squadron with Janson. Just after the Battle of Bilbringi and the defeat of Grand Admiral Thrawn, Hobbie was promoted to the rank of major where he served until retirement with Rogue Squadron. Always the joker, Hobbie and Janson were considered the funny bone of the Rogues.
Hobbie was an easy figure to make, again using a head cast from Dave Diaz, I painted the head flesh and gave him brown hair and eyes and attached it to a headless Biggs Darklighter. The body itself had its body straps all painted to a matching white. The helmet is from Blastshield Luke, repainted white with several blue and black designs painted on, based on the Rogue Squadron comics.
