Jedi Knight Corran Horn

Jedi Knight Corran Horn

Twenty-five years after the Battle of Yavin, the Rebel Alliance Against the Empire has become the New Republic and while peace reigns for the most part across the galaxy, a new threat from beyond the galaxy has appeared. The Yuuzhan Vong have arrived and they are systematically taking over the Outer Rim. Now 19 years after joining Rogue Squadron, Corran Horn now a Jedi Knight helps in the battle against the Vong. On the planet Ithor, Corran battles Yuuzhan Vong commander Shedao Shai in one on one combat and though he wins, his actions afford the Vong time to destroy the ecosystem of the planet. With the weight of that travesty on his mind, Corran has put himself in exile, to contemplate his position in the galaxy and in the Force.

The moment I finished reading the New Jedi Order novel Dark Tide 2: Ruin by Michael Stackpole, I wanted to make this custom. Once I got a cast of Dash Rendar's head from a good guy and really good customizer Dave Diaz (many thanx Dave!!) I was ready to go. After painting the head cast with my own mixture of flesh tone, painted the hair brown and gave Corran his green eyes. You may be wondering where's Dash's beard? Well I shaved it off, as at the point in the novel where Corran fights Shai, he has shaved his beard as necessary when he rejoined the New Republic Military. After the head was painted, I took apart a Ep1 carded Mace Windu and shaved down the collar around the neck, to allow the head to fit more properly. Then the outer tunic, skirt and arms where painted a forest green as with my X-Wing Pilot Corran. The inner tunic and legs where painted a flat black, and the hands where painted the same flesh color as the head. After that the pieces were put back together, the torso pieces where glued together at the sides to prevent them from coming apart when the arms move.  Corran uses a silver-blade lightsaber, so I took Mace's saber (which I chose, due to its simplicity, remember, Corran made this saber from the shaft of a speeder bike steering control) and painted the blade with 2 coats of silver. With the translucency of the blade, the paint job in certain angles looks to glow.  This completes my 4th Corran, I'm quite happy with this figure, I think that my paint job on the face kinda gives him a "older" look, what do you think? Hopefully, I'll have more ideas for more Corran customs, ya can never have enough :)
