ECE442

The Power Semiconductors & Circuits Lab is located in 3253 SEL. Each of the six lab stations is equipped with a 400 MHz digital oscilloscope; current probe amplifier, digital multimeter, hot plate, and a power electronics test fixture. The lab is also equipped with two high-power curve tracers. Student groups rotate through these stations throughout the semester. Experiments focus on the performance and switching characteristics of power semiconductor devices (rectifier, BJT, MOSFET, and IGBT) in a conventional buck converter. Experiments investigate both the device characteristics and the circuit performance.
