Reaching the ICL File System from Remote


Remotely Accessible Machines

There are certain machines in the ICL you can access from remote; you can telnet, ftp into these machines or use exceed. These machines share the same file system as the ones in the lab facilities, so you should see no difference as long as the applications & your own directories are concerned. Here is a list of the remotely accessible machines, please favor them in the order they're given here:

 

Using Exceed, ftp, telnet and SSH (see the info below)

Using SSH

jump.ece.uic.edu

bounce.ece.uic.edu

Oscar.ece.uic.edu

Grover.ece.uic.edu

For security issues we recomend using ssh client software which is very easy to

be installed.

download PuTTY.exe for windows OS.
